Two years ago when we switched to a 64bit machine there was no way to run the Analysis Manager (or any other SQL Server client tools) on the actual server. After going through a recent support case I was told there was a "back way" to do so.
Installing Analysis Manager on a 64bit server
- Get to the command prompt through this directory: C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\cmd.exe
- Through the command prompt run the 32bit AS setup.exe file: WhereverYourSQLServer2000InstallFolderIs\msolap\install\Setup.exe
- Only install the client tools. After doing that, install the newest service pack
